Life in a small town

This week I've been hanging out with my friend Amie in Hutchinson Kansas. Daniel went to Florida to Chaperon the Senior trip and Isaiah and I decided to get out of town too.

Hutchinson is a cute little town about smack dab in the middle of the state. This town boasts the largest grain elevator in the country, underground salt mines and their space museum has more space artifacts than the Smithsonian. Their state fair always has a life size cow made out of butter and on the last day of the fair they have a pancake feed and the town eats the butter cow. They also seem to always have severe weather when I come! (We had a good tornado watch last night!) Nice place to visit huh? My low key visit has primarily been spent on the front porch of my friend Amie's house that was built in 1876. Amie has three adopted kids, Barrett, Woodly and Marie France. After we put the kids to bed, we have been indulging on Amish Cheese, crackers and a nice glass of wine. Fun times!
